THE ORGANISATION
Our client is a private training provider , with its head office and a campus located in Melbourne CBD, and additional campuses in Port Melbourne and Hobart. They deliver Vocational Education Training courses at various Australian Qualification Framework levels in addition to English language intensive courses for overseas students.
THE POSITION
The college is seeking self-motivated Building & Construction Industry professionals with a passion to pass on the skills & knowledge to the aspiring building professionals and to deliver and assess the following course: CPC50210 – Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).
Key duties and responsibilities
- Delivering and assessing the units of competencies within the program
- In conjunction with student support services and RTO Manager, ensuring appropriate course progress
- Maintenance and submission of accurate and reliable assessment records for all students
- Reviewing and improving training delivery, assessment processes and assessment tools
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following units:
- TAELLN411 (or its successor) or TAELLN401A, and
- TAEASS502 (or its successor) or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B or
- a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education
- Meet Industry currency and Professional development requirements as per SRTO Clause 1.13 – 1.16
- Sound knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training System including SRTO 2015 Standards, ESOS Act and National Code 2018
- Current Working with Children Check and willing to undertake a National Police check
- At least 5 years of industry experience
- Experience in the implementation of training programs in line with Training Package requirements
- Project experience in Residential & Commercial Building within the last 2 years – project managing the construction of medium-rise residential buildings
- Experience in the development of learning and assessment resources and validation
- Demonstrated competence in the facilitation of both group and individual learning
- Proven and effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven competence in a range of information technology applications, particularly
- Microsoft Office suite of products
- Current Working with Children Check and willing to undertake a National Police check
- Willing to provide detailed Trainer Skills Matrix for the units within the course
- Good Communication & Interpersonal skills
- A passionate and enthusiastic educator
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills/abilities
- The right attitude and personality to build and maintain rapport and trust with students
- Demonstrated ability to establish, build and maintain relationships
- Ability and willingness to encourage and inspire people to achieve goals
Desirable:
- Experience working with both Domestic and International students.
- Current first-aid certificate
- National Police Clearance certificate
- Proven ability to develop training and assessment strategies (TAS’s) to meet training package requirements
- Weekend availability
- WiseNet (Student Management System) and Google Classroom (Learning Management System) experience
